Today's scores and summaries:

Blue Jays 5, Red Sox 4 at Boston (day game):
Homers by Lloyd Moseby and Barry Bonnell powered the Blue Jays to a 5-4 triumph over the Red Sox. Moseby cracked a solo round-tripper to tie the game at 4-4 in the seventh inning and Bonnell connected with the bases empty in the eighth.

Tigers 3, Royals 2 at Detroit (night game):
Kirk Gibson's two-run homer in the eighth inning lifted the Tigers to a 3-2 victory over the Royals. The circuit blast was his first of the year and followed a single by Enos Cabell. Detroit's other run came on Glenn Wilson's bases-empty homer in the seventh.

Twins 5, A's 2 at Oakland (night game):
A three-run double by Kent Hrbek highlighted a five-run rally in the ninth inning that carried the Twins to a 5-2 victory over the A's. The Twins trailed, 2-0, when John Castino led off the ninth with a single. After one out, Jim Eisenreich walked. One out later, Mickey Hatcher singled to load the bases and Hrbek cleared the sacks with his two-bagger. Gary Gaetti then beat out an infield hit and Randy Johnson and Butch Wynegar delivered successive RBI singles.

Angels 3, Mariners 1 at Seattle (night game):
The Angels posted their seventh straight victory, 3-1 over the Mariners. California snapped a 1-1 tie in the fourth inning when Mariners' shortstop Todd Cruz misplayed a grounder, allowing a run to score with two outs. The Angels added an insurance marker in the eighth on a double by Bobby Grich and Tim Foli's single.

Astros 6, Dodgers 4 at Los Angeles (night game):
A four-run uprising in the sixth inning enabled the Astros to defeat the Dodgers, 6-4, and send Los Angeles to its sixth straight loss. The Astros were down, 4-2, going into the sixth, when Phil Garner and Jose Cruz singled. After Terry Forster replaced Burt Hooton, Alan Ashby singled for one run and Ray Knight tied the game with a double. Alejandro Pena then took over for Forster and gave up a two-run single to Art Howe. Don Sutton went seven innings to earn the victory and Joe Sambito notched his third save.

Phillies 2, Expos 0 at Montreal (day game):
Combining on a three-hitter, Larry Christenson and Ed Farmer pitched the Phillies to a 2-0 blanking of the Expos. The Phils' runs came in the first inning on a leadoff triple by Pete Rose, Gary Matthews' run-scoring single and a two-out RBI single by Bo Diaz.

Padres 13, Giants 6 at San Diego (night game):
Terry Kennedy collected four hits and drove in four runs to pace a team record 24-hit attack as the Padres routed the Giants, 13-6, for their sixth straight victory. Every player in the Padres' starting lineup except pitcher Juan Eichelberger got at least one hit. Kennedy capped a four-run first with a two-run double and drove in another with a two-bagger in a five-run fifth. Ruppert Jones, Juan Bonilla and Luis Salazar delivered RBI singles in the fifth, and the final run of that frame scored on an error.
