The fourth season begins with a badly hung-over Hawkeye returning from leave in Tokyo to the startling discovery that his best buddy, Trapper John, had been transferred stateside two hours earlier. Mike Farrell joins the cast as B.J. Hunnicut and Harry Morgan as Col. Sherman Potter.

In the first show, Campbell is jailed after he refuses to reveal the name of an informant.
