Cousteau's second documentary of the season is a search for the legendary chambered nautilus -- a living fossil -- off New Caledonia in the Pacific, and a study of some effects of pollution on marine life.

In one skit Flip, as Marvin Lattimer, who was educated in the streets, is a contestant on a quiz show called Buzz-Off, hosted by Griffith. In a spoof on used car commercials, Flip plays Monty Mo City. His two assistants are Cal Calico (Griffith), who has a pet bird and plays guitar; and Tony Marquee (Browne), an unemployed Shakesperian actor. Flip, as Rev. Leroy, disputes the saying, "One monkey don't stop no show".

Italian filmmaker Antonioni and his crew spent five weeks in 1972 traveling throughout China, and tonight ABC News presents highlights picked from more than 100 hours of film he shot in major cities and the rural countryside. The lifestyle of the People's Republic of China unfolds in contrasting sequences. Antonioni was the first Westerner ever to visit, much less to film, the people in many rural areas of China. Of particular interest to Antonioni were the children and young people of China engaged in a variety of activities including an intricate and life-like puppet show, an exhibition of gymnasts and acrobats performing the manual labor required of all the able-bodied. Antonioni narrates.
