Season 1, episode 1 W: Herman Groves D: Harry Harvey, Jr. With Kathleen Lloyd (Sister Catalina), John Vernon (Jason Ryker), Paul Koslo (Billy Ray Joiner). Rod Taylor and Dennis Cole star as a pair of roving soldiers of fortune in 1914 who get about in a Stutz Bearcat car. They offer their services for any difficult or dangerous assignment. In the first episode they are assigned to track down a gang armed with a stolen Army truck which is terrorizing and robbing border towns. The bandits are followed to their desert hideout and a battle ensues between the two adventurers in their car and the bandits in their cannon-armed truck.

Western-adventure which debuted last January as a replacement series begins its first full season. Heyes and Curry's hope of winning amnesty for their past crimes is in jeopardy when they discover a youth has been posing as the notorious Kid Curry -- and in that guise he's been convicted of murder.

Sullivan "sings and dances" to "Strangers in the Night". The Osmonds sing "Just Like A Yo-Yo". In other features, Flip and Miss Ball are in a skit that takes place at a drive-in restaurant, where Geraldine (Hot Pants) Jones replaces a regular carhop. Miss Ball is the front end of Jo-Jo, the dancing horse, while Flip is the complaining tail end.

His handicap does not preclude his functioning as a top investigator. In the first episode, he is asked by his chief, Duke Paige, to break up a ring of hijackers working the New Orleans docks.

In the opening episode, Nichols returns to the town of Nichols (founded by his family) and finds it controlled by a tough and powerful rancher.
