[NBC 7:30] Childhood - The Enchanted Years [special] The development of the child from the moment of birth to the first day at school is surveyed in this documentary. Over 70,000 feet of film was shot of 400 children to capture the significant stages in a child's progress as he becomes able to use his hands, walk, talk and reason and perceive. A number of scientists who are becoming increasingly convinced that no other period of human life is so vital to the individual's overall personality are interviewed. Alexander Scourby narrates.

Martin solos "It Keeps Right on a Hurtin'" and "My Woman, My Woman, My Wife". Miss Clark presents "Call Me" and joins Dean for a happiness medley. In a sketch, Bishop and Martin portray two construction workers celebrating 12 years of working together; the cast spoofs famous singers.
