[NBC 7:30] Wildfire! [special] The heroic efforts of firefighters are documented in this MGM-produced program. Specifically, a runway 118,000-acre forest fire last summer in the Wenatchee and Okanogan National Forests in the state of Washington is covered by nine camera crews that began filming shortly after its outbreak Aug. 24. More than 8,000 men fought the blaze for over 10 days. The various methods of combatting fires and the human element involved are graphically demonstrated in one segment showing the successful effort to save the logging town of Ardenvoir. Lorne Greene narrates.
