Oakland took a 7-0 halftime advantage on Ken Stabler's three-yard touchdown pass to Dave Casper, which was set up by a 72-yard run by Booker Russell. In the third quarter, Russell capped a 10-play, 70-yard drive with a one-yard run. Rob Lytle's one-yard touchdown with 1:57 left in the game made it 14-10. The Oakland defense stopped Denver twice in the final minute.
