One-yard touchdown runs by Leroy Harris and Wilbert Montgomery and a 48-yard field goal by rookie Tony Franklin gave the Eagles a 17-14 victory. Harris' touchdown climaxed an 80-yard drive that tied the score at 7-7. Linebacker John Bunting's 15-yard interception return to the Pittsburgh 2 yard line set up Montgomery's deciding score. Herman Edwards' interception in the end zone and Ken Clarke's fumble recovery at the goal line preserved the victory that sent the Steelers to their first defeat.
