Ken Anderson passed for 303 yards to give the Bengals their first win over the Steelers in three years. The victory left the two teams deadlocked for the lead in the AFC Central Division with 8-5 records. Anderson hit Pat McInally with a 43-yard touchdown pass to break a 10-10 tie in the third quarter. Despite a wind-chill factor of five below zero, Anderson passed for 207 yards in the second half. Terry Bradshaw (20 of 39 for 246 yards) was nearly as effective as Anderson. Franco Harris was the leading ground gainer in the game with 95 yards on 25 carries.
