Scott Hunter came off the bench to throw two touchdown passes that led the Falcons to their first win under Pat Peppler, ending a four game losing streak. Hunter's scoring passes to Alfred Jenkins and Haskel Stanback tied the game 14-14 before the Saints went ahead on a two-yard TD run by Tony Galbreath. Stanback's one-yard run with 4:51 left in the game put Atlanta back in the lead, the Falcons final two points coming when Bobby Douglass was forced out of the end zone with 30 seconds remaining.
