Two acrobatic touchdown catches by a leaping Lynn Swann enabled the Steelers to top the Broncos as Terry Bradshaw completed 16 of 26 for 191 yards. Jim Turner provided the Denver scoring with three field goals as Otis Armstrong left the game with a leg injury after carrying seven times for 28 yards. Franco Harris topped the Steeler runners with 69 yards and Rocky Bleier added 53 in the 327-yard attack. The Steelers intercepted three passes and sacked Broncos' quarterbacks twice.
