Franco Harris led the Steelers into their second AFC title game in three years by scoring a record three touchdowns and tied another conference divisional playoff mark with 18 points. Pittsburgh broke the game wide open with 26 points in the second quarter and rolled up 438 yards under the direction of quarterback Terry Bradshaw. Harris carried 24 times for 74 yards and Bradshaw ran for 48 yards, while O. J. Simpson of the Bills was held to 49 yards. Joe Ferguson passed for both Buffalo scores to tight end Paul Seymour and Simpson. The Steelers set a divisional playoff record with 29 first downs.
