Phil Wise's 80-yard fumble recovery return, Joe Namath's touchdown pass to Emerson Boozer and a Bobby Howfield field goal gave the Jets a 17-0 halftime lead. The Colts came back with the help of a flea-flicker pass from Marty Domres to Cotton Speyrer to Glenn Doughty and a one-yard TD run by Lydell Mitchell after Ted Hendricks had intercepted a Namath pass. Baltimore's George Hunt, who already had kicked a 17-yard field goal, missed from the 46 with two minutes to go. Boozer rushed 24 times for 105 yards.
