Sam Wyche replaced an injured Virgil Carter to pace the Bengals to a seventh-straight victory which wrapped up the AFC's Central Division title. A record Cincinnati crowd watched the Bengals run up their highest score ever. Wyche threw TD passes to Paul Robinson and Speedy Thomas and one of his half-dozen carries for 63 yards included a TD effort. Cincinnati's victory total ? eight ? doubled that of the previous year.
