Claudell Washington hit a three-run homer and Glenn Hubbard went 4-for-5 and drove in three runs to lead the Braves to a 10-4 pounding of the Pirates. Washington's clout came in the fourth inning and snapped a 1-1 tie. A walk to Brett Butler and single by Hubbard preceded the blast. The Braves added three runs in the fifth on a two-run double by Phil Niekro and a single by Hubbard, who also drove in two runs with a single in the ninth. [The Sporting News]
