A four-run uprising in the sixth inning enabled the Astros to defeat the Dodgers, 6-4, and send Los Angeles to its sixth straight loss. The Astros were down, 4-2, going into the sixth, when Phil Garner and Jose Cruz singled.

After Terry Forster replaced Burt Hooton, Alan Ashby singled for one run and Ray Knight tied the game with a double. Alejandro Pena then took over for Forster and gave up a two-run single to Art Howe. Don Sutton went seven innings to earn the victory and Joe Sambito notched his third save. [The Sporting News]
