Dan Petry and Elias Sosa pitched the Tigers to a five-hit, 5-2 triumph over the Yankees. The Tigers scored twice in the second inning on singles by Tom Brookens and Alan Trammell and twice in the seventh on singles by Enos Cabell and Larry Herndon.
