Frank Pastore, going the distance for the second time this season, pitched a six-hitter to give the Reds a 6-2 victory over the Giants. The Reds struck for two runs in the first inning when Ron Oester stroked a one-out double. Ken Griffey bunted safely and George Foster singled home the first run.

After Dave Concepcion contributed another single to load the bases, Ray Knight hit a sacrifice fly. Concepcion, who had seven hits in 13 at-bats for the three game series, added run-scoring doubles in the fifth and seventh. [The Sporting News]
