Driving in six runs, four with a bases-loaded homer, Bill North led the Giants to an 8-2 triumph over the Expos as Vida Blue went the route in scattering seven hits. North put the Giants ahead, 2-1, in the fifth inning wth a two-run double that followed a two-out double by Johnnie LeMaster and walk to Blue.
