A two-run double by Milt May in the fourth inning sent the Giants winging toward a 3-2 victory over the Dodgers as Vida Blue ended a string of three losses to Los Angeles. Greg Minton came on to record his third save after Steve Garvey tapped Blue for a two-run homer in the ninth.

May delivered the key blow in the fourth after Jack Clark walked and Larry Herndon doubled. In the seventh, Johnnie LeMaster doubled, advanced on Blue's sacrifice and scored the deciding run as Bill North grounded out. [The Sporting News]
