. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Three doubles by Keith Hernandez and a three-run triple by Tommy Herr sparked a 10-hit attack that carried the Cardinals to a 6-1 victory over the Cubs, Chicago's seventh straight loss. The Redbirds broke a 1-1 tie in the third inning on a two-bagger by Hernandez and single by George Hendrick and put the game away in a four-run eighth highlighted by Herr's bases-clearing three-bagger.
