Rufino Linares, who had only a bunt single to show for his first 15 major league at-bats, singled sharply to right to score Rafael Ramirez with the winning run in the 10th inning of the Braves 2-1 triumph over the Astros. Bob Knepper, making his first start for Houston since being obtained in a trade from San Francisco last winter, was knocked from the game in the fourth inning when he was hit by a line drive off the bat of Dale Murphy. The lefthander had to be helped from the field and a team spokesman said the pitcher had suffered a bruised left foot. [The Sporting News]
