Atlanta left fielder Brian Asselstine's 10th-inning error paved the way for the tie-breaking run, giving the Cardinals a 4-3 decision over the Braves. With two out, none on and the score tied, 3-3, Keith Hernandez lofted a fly ball that fell out of Asselstine's glove as Hernandez reached second.

After Ted Simmons was issued an intentional walk, George Hendrick stroked a single to plate Hernandez. The Redbirds had tied the game in the eighth on a two-run homer by Garry Templeton. [The Sporting News]
