The league's home run and RBI leader, Otto Velez, belted a three-run homer to highlight a 7-2 triumph by the Blue Jays over the Red Sox. With the score tied, 1-1, in the third inning and one out, Bob Bailor was hit by the pitch, stole sec-nd and scored on a single by Al Woods.

After a single by Velez, Roy Howell bounced into a fielder's choice to plate Woods and give the Jays a 3-1 lead. Bailor led off the fifth with a walk and Woods singled to set the stage for the three-run circuit wallop by Velez. [The Sporting News]
