Homers by Reggie Jackson and Rick Cerone highlighted the Yankees' 10-1 thrashing of the Twins. Jackson's homer was a 445-foot shot into the center field bleachers to lead off the second inning and Cerone's was a three-run inside-the-park affair in the fifth frame. The Yankees registered six runs in the fourth on singles by Lou Piniella, Graig Nettles, Cerone, Ruppert Jones and Bob Watson and a sacrifice fly by Willie Randolph. [The Sporting News]
