A pair of errors permitted the Dodgers to score twice in the eighth inning and beat the Padres, 5-2. With the score tied, 2-2, Von Joshua stroked a pinch-double. Derrel Thomas laid down a bunt which Padre pitcher Steve Mura fielded and threw wildly past first base, allowing Joshua to score. After a sacrifice bunt by Bill Russell, Thomas came home when center fielder Gene Richards dropped a fly ball by Dusty Baker. [The Sporting News]
