A single by Alex Trevino drove home Lee Mazzilli from third base with one out in the ninth inning to lift the Mets to a 2-1 victory over the Braves and give rookie Jeff Reardon credit for his first major league victory in the completion of the game that was suspended on June 17.

In the regularly-scheduled contest, Eddie Solomon collected three hits, drove in two runs and pitched a seven-hitter as the Braves prevailed, 5-1. Solomon singled in his first three at-bats, knocking in runs in the fourth and fifth innings. [The Sporting News]
