Homers by Gorman Thomas and Ben Oglivie lifted the Brewers to a 5-2 decision over the Royals. Thomas cracked his 30th round-tripper after a walk to Oglivie in the second inning. The Brewers scored three times in the sixth. After Cecil Cooper and Sixto Lezcano singled, Cooper scored on an error by center fielder Amos Otis.
