Unfurling a two-hitter, Bill Bonham pitched the Reds to a 3-1 victory over the Braves. The Reds scored twice in the sixth inning when Johnny Bench stroked a single and Dave Concepcion followed with a homer. Cesar Geronimo added a round-tripper in the seventh.
