The Giants accounted for all their runs with three homers, capping their attack with a circuit clout by Jack Clark in the 11th inning to beat the Padres, 4-3. The Padres got off to a two-run lead in the first, but the Giants pulled even in the fourth when Mike Ivie singled and Darrell Evans homered. After the Padres regained the lead with a triple by Ozzie Smith and sacrifice fly by Kurt Bevacqua in the fifth, Larry Herndon tied the score with a round-tripper in the seventh.
