The Indians completed the three-game series sweep by scalding the Twins, 7-2. The Tribe broke a 2-2 tie in the fifth inning with a run-scoring triple by Mike Hargrove and added single tallies in the sixth and eighth on doubles by Ted Cox.

The Indians' final two runs counted in the ninth on an RBI single by Dell Alston and a fielder's choice. Dan Spillner, making his first start in two years, pitched 6 1/3 innings and gained the victory. [The Sporting News]
