. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Carl Yastrzemski cracked his 400th career homer and Dwight Evans smashed a two-run round-tripper to lead the Red Sox to a 7-3 victory over the A's. Yaz' blast came in the seventh inning with Jim Rice aboard via a fielder's choice. Evans' blow came in the eighth with Butch Hobson on base after hitting a triple. Yastrzemski also drove in a run with a single in the first inning and Evans batted in one with a single in the sixth. [The Sporting News]
