Three Giants' pitchers, Ed Whitson, Phil Nastu and Pedro Borbon, combined to shut out the Mets, 4-0. The Giants scored in the first inning when Bill North singled, stole second, continued to third on a throwing error by catcher John Stearns and came home on a sacrifice fly by Darrell Evans.
