Steve Ontiveros climaxed a four-run first inning with a two-run homer and doubled in another run in the fifth, leading the Cubs to their fourth straight victory, a 7-4 triumph over the Braves. Jerry Martin and Larry Biittner had already driven in runs before Ontiveros connected off Phil Niekro -- the 25th homer off the knuckleballer this season. An RBI groundout by Scot Thompson produced a third-inning marker and the Cubs added another pair in the fifth on consecutive doubles by Martin, Biittner and Ontiveros. [The Sporting News]
