Registering his 42nd career shutout, Nolan Ryan pitched the Angels to a 6-0 triumph over the Red Sox. The righthander struck out 12 batters, the 127th time in his career he has fanned 10 or more batters in a game. His third strikeout of the night gave him 2,837, moving him past Mickey Lolich into third place on the all-time list.
