Wiping out a 5-0 deficit, the Braves posted their fifth straight victory, beating the Giants, 7-6. After the Braves tied the score at 6-6, Pepe Frias led off the eighth inning with a single, went to second on a sacrifice by Bruce Benedict and to third on an infield out by Darrel Chaney. With Jerry Royster at the plate, Frias bluffed a steal of home and when Giants' reliever Gary Lavelle balked, Frias was waved home to give the Braves their winning run. [The Sporting News]
