Gorman Thomas smashed a homer and Cecil Cooper rapped out three hits to spark the Brewers to a 4-3 victory over the Rangers. Thomas clouted his round-tripper with a man on base to tie the game at 2-2 in the second inning.

After a solo homer by Pat Putnam put the Rangers back ahead, 3-2, in the fifth, the Brewers scored twice in their half. Cooper drove in one run with a double and Sixto Lezcano followed with the winning single. [The Sporting News]
