The Padres won their fifth straight game, defeating the Braves, 3-1, behind the five-hit pitching of Eric Rasmussen and Rollie Fingers. The Padres scored their first run in the third inning when Gene Tenace doubled, moved to third on an infield out and scored on a single by Gene Richards.
