A single by Buddy Bell broke a 5-5 tie in the eighth inning and lifted the Rangers to a 7-5 triumph over the Twins. Larvell Blanks drew a walk to open the Ranger eighth but was forced at second by Bump Wills.

After Johnny Grubb fouled out, Wills stole second and then scored on Bell's fourth hit of the game. The Rangers picked up an insurance tally in the ninth on an RBI single by Jim Sundberg. Ron Jackson hit a two-run homer for the Twins. [The Sporting News]
