. . . where the 1970s live forever!
A six-run explosion in the first inning propelled the Red Sox to a 9-4 victory over the Angels. Singles by Jerry Remy, Rick Burleson and Fred Lynn produced the first Bosox run and, after Jim Rice flied out, Angel right fielder Don Baylor dropped Carl Yastrzemski's fly ball, allowing Burleson to score. Following a walk to George Scott, Butch Hobson lined a two-bagger to left-center, clearing the bases. The final run of the inning came in when Remy singled home Hobson. [The Sporting News]
