The Dodgers won the first game of a doubleheader, 8-3, but the Mets came back to take the second game, 6-3. In the opener, Dusty Baker drove in five runs with a two-run single in the fourth inning, a bases-loaded walk in the fifth and a two-run homer in the seventh.

A single by Richie Hebner in the fifth inning of the second game broke a 3-3 tie and the Mets increased their margin with a homer by Joel Youngblood in the sixth and a run-scoring single by Lee Mazzilli in the seventh. [The Sporting News]
