Making his major league debut, Ross Baumgarten got credit for the victory as the White Sox defeated the Rangers, 6-2, snapping Texas' six-game winning streak. Singles by Don Kessinger, Jorge Orta and Lamar Johnson got the White Sox rolling in the first inning and they added a run in the second on a triple by Claudell Washington and an out by Bob Molinaro.

After Molinaro had an RBI single in the sixth, the White Sox broke the game open with three runs in the eighth. Washington drove in one tally with a single and Kessinger added a pair with another single. [The Sporting News]
