. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Accounting for his fourth RBI of the game, Clint Hurdle singled in the 10th inning to bring the Royals a 9-8 victory over the Blue Jays. With two out, Freddie Patek drew a walk and stole second ahead of Hurdle's hit. Hurdle drove in one run with a sacrifice fly in the second and tied the score at 8-8 with a two-run homer in the eighth.

Amos Otis also homered for the Royals, while the Blue Jays had round-trippers by Alan Ashby, Rico Carty and John Mayberry. Carty's homer was his 20th, setting a Toronto club record. [The Sporting News]
