. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Taking advantage of wildness by Cincinnati ace Tom Seaver, the Braves downed the Reds, 5-3, in a nationally televised contest. In the second inning, Jeff Burroughs walked and moved to second on a single by Joe Nolan. Both runners advanced on a wild pitch and Burroughs scored on a passed ball that also moved Nolan to third. A sacrifice fly by Rod Gilbreath scored Nolan. In the fourth frame, a walk to Nolan, triple by Dale Murphy and squeeze bunt by Gilbreath produced another pair. [The Sporting News]
