Four RBIs by Roy White led the Yankee attack as the Bronx Bombers beat the White Sox, 7-4. White's two-run single in the sixth off losing pitcher Rich Hinton broke a 4-4 tie. Hinton walked Gary Thomasson and Fred Stanley before an infield out and intentional pass to Cliff Johnson loaded the bases.

Hinton then hit Mickey Rivers with a pitch, forcing in Thomasson to tie the score, and White followed with his hit. After a fifth-inning single by Rivers, White blasted a home run. [The Sporting News]
