Facing his former teammates for the first time since being traded, Eric Rasmussen won his seventh straight decision as the Padres bested the Cardinals, 3-2. The Cards went ahead, 1-0, in the second inning on a double by Ken Reitz and single by Pete Vuckovich, but the Padres tied it in the fifth on a double by Gene Richards and single by Ozzie Smith.
