The batting of Bill Robinson, who drove in four runs with a homer, double and sacrifice fly, enabled the Pirates to defeat the Giants, 5-2. After Robinson's double produced the Pirates' initial run in the first inning, the Giants went ahead with consecutive RBI doubles by Johnnie LeMaster and Marc Hill in the second. But Robinson then put the game in the Pirates' winning column by hitting a homer in the third to score behind John Milner, who was on base with a double. [The Sporting News]
