Extending their winning streak to four, longest in their two-year history, the Blue Jays continued to make life miserable for Baltimore, handing the Orioles their seventh straight setback, 3-2. Jim Clancy blanked the Birds until two were out in the ninth when a pair of walks and a single by Lee May brought on reliever Tom Murphy. The Orioles got another run on an error by Roy Howell before Murphy recorded the final out.

The Blue Jays scored two unearned runs in the first inning after third baseman Rich Dauer made a throwing error on a grounder by Rick Bosetti. Howell bounced into a forceout and, with two outs, Rico Carty homered. The Jays added the deciding run in the fourth on doubles by Otto Velez and Rick Cerone. [The Sporting News]
