Dave Cash reached second base on an error by Ted Sizemore to open the Expos' fourth and went to third on a sacrifice by Chris Speier, who was safe at first on an error by Richie Hebner.

After an out, Tony Perez hit into a fielder's choice to score Cash. Ellis Valentine then singled and stole second and Andre Dawson followed with a double to left, plating Perez and Valentine. [The Sporting News]
