Led by Claudell Washington, who drove in four runs with a homer and a triple, the White Sox ended their four-game losing streak with a 7-4 victory over the Twins. Darrell Jackson, who started for the Twins, allowed only three hits, but the rookie lefthander was kayoed with one out in the sixth after Alan Bannister walked and Washington and Wayne Nordhagen homered.

Roric Harrison yielded another run before the inning ended and then was chased in the seventh when the White Sox added their final three runs on a double by Don Kessinger, single by Bannister, triple by Washington and sacrifice fly by Nordhagen. [The Sporting News]
